What This Editor Does
This editor is built to turn a video frame into a finished thumbnail inside your browser. You can pick the frame manually or automatically, adjust the base image, add text, upload images, build shapes, draw freehand graphics, arrange everything in layers, and export a high-quality JPG.
Recommended Workflow
- Open the Video tab and upload a video.
- Choose your output size with 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, or your own custom resolution.
- Pick your frame with the timeline slider or press Auto-Select Best Scene.
- Use the Adjust tab to improve the base frame.
- Add overlays from Text, Images, and Shapes.
- Click a layer on the canvas or in the Layers list to edit it, then move, resize, rotate, reorder, or delete it.
- Press Save Thumbnail to download a JPG.
Video Tab
- Upload a video from your device. The editor is video-first, so this is the starting point for the full toolset.
- Use the aspect ratio buttons for 16:9, 9:16, or 1:1.
- Use the custom width and height boxes when you need an exact output size.
- Crop to Fill Frame fills the canvas, Fit Entirely keeps the whole frame visible, and Stretch to Fill Frame forces the video to match the canvas.
- The timeline slider scrubs through the video frame by frame.
- Remove Video clears the current source and resets the preview.
Auto-Select Best Scene
- This scans sample frames from the video and scores them to find a strong-looking scene automatically.
- It favors frames that are colorful and not badly underexposed or blown out.
- After the scan, the timeline jumps to the chosen frame so you can keep editing from there.
- Use it as a fast starting point, then fine-tune with the timeline if needed.
Adjust Tab
- Brightness lifts or darkens the base frame.
- Contrast increases separation between light and dark areas.
- Saturation boosts or reduces color intensity.
- Focus Blur softens the background frame.
- Vignette darkens the edges to pull attention toward the center.
- Auto Enhance quickly applies a stronger contrast and saturation setup.
- Reset All returns the base frame adjustments to default.
Text Tab
- Press Add Text to create a new text layer.
- Type directly into the text field to change the selected text layer.
- The editor includes a 74-font library with a search bar so you can quickly find a style by name or category.
- Fonts are cached locally with IndexedDB, so the large install only has to happen once per device/browser.
- Use Text Color, Border Color, Border Size, and Drop Shadow to build readable thumbnail text.
- Enable Add Background Box to place the text inside a solid box, then adjust box color, padding, and roundness.
- Use the Opacity slider to fade the selected text layer.
- There is no separate text-size field here because text is transform-based. Resize text with the cyan canvas handle.
Images Tab
- Upload PNG, JPG/JPEG, or WEBP images from your device.
- Each uploaded image becomes its own movable image layer.
- Use Round Edges to soften corners.
- Use Border Size and Border Color to frame the image.
- Use Opacity to blend the image into the composition.
Shapes Tab
- Add built-in shapes: Box, Circle, Arrow, Thought Bubble, and Pow Burst.
- For selected shapes, you can edit fill color, border color, border size, shadow, and opacity.
- The Empty toggle removes the fill and leaves only the outline.
- Roundness is most useful on box-style shapes.
Drawing Tool
- Open the Shapes tab and press Enable in the drawing section.
- Set a line color and thickness before you start drawing.
- Choose a fill color if you want the inside of the path filled, or keep Empty on for a hollow drawing.
- Click or touch the canvas and drag to draw the path.
- When you release, the drawing becomes a normal layer called Drawn Path.
- That new layer can be moved, resized, rotated, reordered, recolored, outlined, shadowed, or deleted like other graphic layers.
- While drawing mode is active, normal selection and transform controls are temporarily disabled so you can sketch cleanly.
Canvas Controls
- Click or tap a layer on the canvas to select it.
- Drag the selected object itself to move it.
- Drag the cyan handle to resize width and height.
- Drag the purple handle to rotate the selected layer.
- Click empty canvas space to deselect.
- When you select a layer, the editor automatically opens the matching tab for that layer type.
Layer Stack
- The layer list at the bottom of the tool panel shows every text, image, shape, and drawn path.
- Click a layer in the list to reselect it.
- Use the arrow buttons to move the selected layer up or down in the stack.
- Use the minus button to delete the selected layer.
- Use Clear All to remove every overlay layer at once.
Undo / Redo / Delete
- Use the floating buttons in the upper-left corner of the preview for fast undo and redo.
- Keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl/Cmd + Z for undo.
- Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Z or Ctrl/Cmd + Y for redo.
- Delete or Backspace removes the selected layer when you are not typing in an input field.
Export
- Press Save Thumbnail to export the current canvas as a high-quality JPG.
- The selection box is hidden automatically during export so the final image is clean.
- If export is blocked after adding an image, re-upload that image directly from your device instead of using content copied from the web.
Font Loading Screen
- On first launch, the editor may show a font preparation screen while it installs the massive font pack.
- The progress bar exists so users can see that the editor is working and not frozen.
- After the first successful install, those fonts are loaded from local cache on later visits when possible.
Local Processing & Privacy
This tool runs inside your browser. Your video, images, font cache, edits, and export process stay local to the device you are using. The editor is designed so users can build thumbnails without sending their media to a remote server.
